Blanket Chronicles

Blankets Out for Delivery!

This month we had requests for 53 blankets from infant to teen sizes which were nestled together in the plastic bags you can see in the photo below.  In our 6 years of operating as a Project Linus Chapter in Humboldt County, we have always been able to supply agencies with their specific blanket requests.  I attribute this to the stellar stitching abilities and dedication of our small, but mighty chapter of Blanketeers!

This month these blankets were delivered to Women, Infants and Children/(WIC), Eureka City Schools, the DHHS Nurse Family Partnership and the California Tribal TANF Partnership.  The blanket bags are tagged so agencies know how many and what sizes of blankets they will find in each bag.  The plastic bags also ensure that the contents will stay clean until they are distributed to children.

We have delivered a total of 333 blankets since January 1st, 2024. At every delivery, agency staff continue to share their appreciation for our blankets and always add that they are impressed with the quality and creativity stitched into them! And as I have said many times I could not do this without the collective energy of our Project Linus Humboldt Chapter. Thank you Blanketeers!
