Coast Central Credit Union Delivers Once Again

Our blanket thanks to Coast Central Credit Union (CCCU) for their unwavering support of our Project Linus Humboldt Chapter. CCCU has been a supporter for the past six years. Their support is both financial and personal as they express their respect for our blanket making and all of the blanket deliveries we do for children in our community.

With their funding we purchase batting in bulk with helps our blanket makers to get batting at no cost to them.  We also reimburse blanket makers for thread, yarn, and fabric that they purchase throughout the year.

As the Chapter Coordinator, I am responsible for fundraising a minimum of $500. per calendar year.  For the past two years, CCCU has donated $1,000./year making my fundraising responsibility so much easier! From the beginning, I have always felt that CCCU has “our back”!

In 2023, we delivered 475 blankets to local kids needing a blanket hug.  CCCU’s support is stitched into those blankets.  These blankets have gone to children living in Betty Chinn’s family shelters, teen shelters, elementary schools, the Eureka Rescue Mission’s Women’s Shelter and children as far away as Hoopa.

Our Project Linus Chapter is composed of volunteers.  There are no paid staff.  We get a great deal satisfaction for what we do. I believe that the support that CCCU provides energizes us in our blanket efforts. We appreciate their partnership.  Once again, thank you CCCU for your continuing support.
